ALBANY, NY-- SnackerTracker ® has launched a new product dedicated to educating parents and children on the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle. This new product, the SnackerTracker, is geared towards children ages 2-8 and is an easy-to-use nutritional tracking system designed to help children learn how to eat healthy and stay in shape.
The SnackerTracker is a large colorful magnet that sticks to any refrigerator or magnetic surface. Each day as your child eats the appropriate serving of food and performs some physical activity, simply cross the item off your SnackerTracker.
The SnackerTracker Nutritional Guide, which is included in each SnackerTracker package, educates parents on the basics of following the recommended daily food intake for children, gives examples of healthy food children can snack on, provides tips on how to incorporate activity into busy lives, helps each parent decide what is right for their child and explains exactly what to look for on the Nutritional Facts label of packaged food.
"As the busy parents of a growing toddler with very picky eating habits, we needed an effective and simple strategy to make sure she was getting all of her nutritional needs," said Gina Luttrell, President & Founder of SnackerTracker. "We were struggling to find exactly what we were looking for so we invented it!"
With childhood obesity on the rise, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, over the past 3 decades the childhood obesity rate has more than doubled for preschool children ages 2 to 5 years and it has more than tripled for children ages 6 to 11 years.
"Overweight adolescents have a 70% of becoming overweight or obese adults," said Todd Luttrell, Vice President of SnackerTracker. This increases to 80% if one or more parents are overweight or obese. This is why it is so important to provide children with the right tools from the start. It is our goal to give families what they need to educate their children on how to live a healthy lifestyle."
